If you have ever wanted to buy a slow cooker, then you need to see the Cuisinart MSC 800 Multicooker. This is like a slow cooker on steroids. In addition to being a slow cooker, it is a roaster, saute pan, and steamer.
One of my favorite kitchen appliances is the slow cooker, sometimes also called a crock pot. This type of popular slow cooking pot cooks food slowly for several hours over low heat.
The world of cooking for me as a stay at home dad changed when I discovered the advantages of the Cuisinart Multi Cooker MSC-800.
Cuisinart has kicked up the traditional slow cooker with their Cuisinart Multicooker, by adding two important features in one cooking pot to save time and use fewer utensils – browning and saute. In addition to being the best slow cooker, it is also a steamer and can brown or saute your food in the same pot, so you have less to clean up!
If you are cooking a meat dish, such as meatballs, they must be browned first to keep their shape during the several hours of cooking, otherwise they will turn into spaghetti sauce in a slow cooker. I know this from experience! You also get added flavor in your dish by not losing the flavorful juices produced during browning.
With the Cuisinart Cook Central 4-in-1 Slow Cooker available at Amazon.com, you get three of the most important cooking features in one kitchen appliance:
There are several advantage of using the Cuisinart MultiCooker.

There is also a large Stop/Start button, so you can end the cooking process anytime you need to, and there is no question if the multicooker is On or Off, as with other slow cookers that just have a red light to let you know the pot is on.
Using a slow cooker is a great energy-saving way to cook a meal without having to stand over the stove. Some people even refer to this as fix it and forget it cooking, since you mix the ingredients and put it in the slow cooker, set the temperature for Low, High or Simmer for 4-8 hours, it’s that easy.
You can use your Cuisinart slow cooker to make more than just stew or soup. How about stuffing for that perfect Thanksgiving dinner, or a perfect dessert, such as rice pudding, bread pudding, caramelized apples, yummy fruit compote, and even a slow cooker apple cake?

With the Cuisinart 3-in-1 Multicooker, you can set the amount of time for the slow cooker to be on, so if the recipe recommends the dish cooking for 4 or 8 hours, and you have a 10 hour work day, just put in the ingredients, set the cooking timer and leave. When the cooking time has elapsed, the slow cooker will turn itself off. You don’t worry about the dish being cold when you’re ready to eat, as it will automatically turn to the “Keep Warm” setting until you get home, so you can still enjoy a nice hot meal.
With the Cuisinart Cook Central 3-in-1 Multicooker, just select the “Steam” setting, add water or other liquid to the bottom of cooker, insert the streaming rack, and you can easily steam any dish, such as asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, chicken and shrimp, or even apples.
Steaming is one of the healthiest methods of cooking, since you don’t lose the vital nutrients and vitamins as when cooking vegetables in water, and there is no need to use oil or butter, which can contain unhealthy trans-fats and cholesterol.
Simply cover with the lid and set the steaming tine. Once steaming is complete, you can carefully remove food from the pot with a spoon, fork or tongs and enjoy a healthy and delicious low fat meal.
You can use the Brown/Sauté function as you would a skillet or sauté pan on the stove top for any recipes that call for the meat to be browned. When your dish includes a multi cooking process of browning the meat before putting it in the slow cooker, just select the “Brown/saute” setting and brown the meat or chicken.
Next, add the ingredients per your recipe and simply change the cooking setting to “Slow Cook,” set the cooking time and temperature setting, cover and walk away. You can use the Brown/Sauté function to reheat foods as well.
Just use Brown/Sauté at 350 degrees F and stir until all ingredients are warmed through. Once you have chosen the cooking function that best fits your recipe, simply set the desired time and temperature, and then press Start.
